John Brind 1727 intestate P3/B/1256ii | ||||
(NOTE: The top bit appears to be Latin, describing the deceased as Johannis Brind (presumably a Latinisation of John) and his wife as Marian (again probably the Latin for Mary, though since Jerusalem was under Roman occupation when the Bible was written and there were a number of Marys featured in that book, it seems evident that the Romans knew the name Mary).
You swear that John Brind your husband late of Stratton St Margaratts decd---- -------- died without making any Will or Testament, so far as you know or believe, That you will truely Administer his goods and pay his debts as fair forth as his goods chattles ???????? will ???????? and the Law bind you, that you will make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods chattles and ?????? of the said Decd which have or shall come to your hands possession or knowledge and Exhibit the same into the Registry of this the Archdeacon of Wills -- and pass a just account of your Administration when thereto lawfully required-- so help you God-- Kiss the Book |
